CAFKA is a hard working community of professional artists, curators and art lovers. We are gearing up for CAFKA.16, our 11th exhibition of art in the public spaces of the Waterloo Region running from May 28 through June 26, 2016, and we want to share with you a few updates about what’s been going on, what’s coming up and how you can get involved.
Just a few weeks ago, we welcomed French artist Grégory Lasserre, one half of the internationally renowned media project Scenocosme who spoke at our Big Ideas in Arts and Culture Lecture Series. It was an inspiring, amazing talk. Our next Big Ideas lecture features Nadija Mustapić and Toni Meštrović on Thursday November 12, 7 PM at the Bookshelf, 41 Quebec Street, Guelph.
As part of Night/Shift, we also hosted a fabulous party, the CAFKA Rec Room. If you were there, see if you can find yourself in our photos! Missed it? We missed you too! Make sure you don’t miss the next one (details coming soon).
Leading up to our biennial exhibition in June 2016, our committees are working on the shape of the program, scouting locations, finding sponsors and more. In fact, you’ll be hearing more from us again in a few weeks with a sneak peek at the CAKFA.16 biennial, and we’ll also be launching a Giving Tuesday donation campaign!
Thanks again for being part of our conversation about bringing art to our public spaces. We’ll be back in touch soon!
