Education Program Coordinator

The Education Program Coordinator will make the necessary preparations for the CAFKA.25 biennial exhibition education programs in June and July 2025. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • working closely with artists to support the preparation of their artist talks and workshops, including coordinating digital files for presentations (eg. powerpoint slides; checking formatting and file types), coordinating lists and pick-up of workshop materials
  • obtaining and revising written copy and visual material for the promotion of educational activities
  • coordinating venue and bus rentals to support educational tours
  • lead the facilitation of public tours of CAFKA’s biennial art projects, and support the coordination of educational copy to specialized multi-lingual and ASL tour guides that CAFKA engages
  • communicating clearly and efficiently with CAFKA’s staff, volunteers, community partners, and public participants in person and over email
  • keeping files clearly labelled and well organized in their CAFKA email account and on the shared Workspace (Google Drive)
  • attending events as a representative of CAFKA.
  • preparatory and administrative work will take place on-site (in CAFKA’s office)
  • delivery of tours and the facilitation of educational workshops and events will take place mostly in Kitchener with occasional events across Waterloo Region (Waterloo and Cambridge)
  • any other associated/assigned tasks within the reasonable scope of an Education Program Coordinator

 

Scheduling and Compensation:

The Education Program Coordinator role is full-time (35 hr/week) for 12 weeks at $20/hr compensation, with an anticipated start date of Monday, May 5, 2025

Photographer

The Photographer will receive mentorship and guidelines from CAFKA's Director to direct the quality and strategy of artwork and event documentation, including 17 public artworks (indoors and outdoors) and numerous events programmed as part of CAFKA’s summer biennial in June and July 2025.  

 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • implementing directives from staff and artists
  • adapting to dynamic environments (natural light, crowds)
  • procedures for photo release
  • post-production editing of documentation
  • preparing the export of digital files by resizing and formatting according to different uses (web vs print)
  • coordinating delivery of digital files to artists and community partners
  • communicating clearly with CAFKA’s staff and artists in person and over email
  • keeping files clearly labelled and well organized in their CAFKA email account on the shared CAFKA Google Drive
  • attending events as a representative of CAFKA
  • preparatory and post-production work will take place on-site (in CAFKA’s office)
  • documentation of artworks and events will take place mostly in Kitchener with occasional events across Waterloo Region (Waterloo and Cambridge)
  • any other associated/assigned tasks within the reasonable scope of a Photographer, including some videography
