Brenda Mabel Reid is an emerging non-binary visual artist with a social practice and a background in architecture. They are based in the Haldimand Tract and reside in Kitchener. Their work investigates power dynamics in Canadian society, often through means they find humorous.
Participants will draw, cut, and paint their own stencil designs onto quilt blocks to create patterns. These new quilt blocks will be incorporated into the original quilt made of construction materials, forever marking its trip to Kitchener. There will also be a Sleep Mask Decorating Station at the workshop. Decorate your own sleep mask using paint pens or the stencil you’ve created!
This workshop previously toured through Saint John, New Brunswick and St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Kitchener is the final stop – Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn a new skill and to contribute to Brenda Mabel Reid’s expanding artwork!
This event is FREE to attend, but registration is required as capacity is limited. Please register here.
