Please join CAFKA and Open Ears on Tuesday April 3rd from 5 - 7 PM at Descendants Brewery, 319 Victoria Street North, Kitchener, where we will introduce our 2018 biennial line-ups.
CAFKA presents a biennial program of art in Kitchener and surrounding communities to inspire, engage, and enrich community life. CAFKA.18 will be the organization's 11th exhibition in the public spaces of the Waterloo Region.
The program includes approximately 30 installations, performances, projections and interventions involving collaborations with festival partner Open Ears Festival of Music and Sound, and our curatorial partners University of Waterloo Art Gallery, Critical Media Lab, Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery, and Cambridge Art Galleries.
Founded in 1998, Open Ears Festival of Music and Sound is recognized as being one of Canada’s most diverse and adventurous musical events. Open Ears is both an international festival presenting new and creative sounds, and a localized community with a mandate to uncover & rediscover its continually evolving sounds, dedicated to the simple and powerful act of listening.
