Help Offered is a series of site-specific interventions. Each day the artist will work free of charge for a different small-scale independent business in Kitchener, working alongside owners and/or employees. In performing a variety of tasks that meet the needs of the establishment, he seeks to bring purely utilitarian actions to the realm of performance. Here, work is purposely devoid of any intent to produce capital and is instead shaped into a poetic exercise. In return, labour reassembles art into a utilitarian practice that questions commodification. The interventions will be documented in video with live feed to the Forum allowing viewers to monitor the daily activities of the artist.
