Huge thanks to those who helped us kick off the opening of CAFKA.16. Here is just some of what is going on this week.

Experience Victoria Park in a whole new way and learn to identify plants by sight, smell, taste, or touch at the Civilization of the Wild: Scratch & Sniff & Sip. The workshop is on Wednesday, June 1, at 7 PM at Victoria Park in Kitchener. Admission is free.

Grab your friends and explore the downtown Kitchener installations with CAFKA Pub Crawl. On Thursday, June 2, meet at Kitchener City Hall at 6 and go on a guided tour. While you're out, enjoy drinks, discussions, and share your creative side at art stations set up at participating bars. Pre-register online or register at Kitchener City Hall at the start of the Crawl. Cost is $25 and includes three drink tickets and snacks.

Start your weekend with some fun. CAFKA Family Days features Buttons, Stickers, and Magnets. Local collage artists Caroline Wesley and Ellie Anglin, armed with their trusty hand-held button makers, will lead participants in creating their own one of a kind collage buttons, stickers, and magnets, from start to finish. Meet at Kitchener Market on Saturday, June 4, from 9 AM - 1 PM, $5/PWYC.

Join artist Meghan Harder as Alfred and the KW Cobbers from Transition KW lead a workshop for Civilization of the Wild: Bread Oven Building. The workshop will be hed Saturday, June 4, from 9 AM - 11 AM, in Victoria Park. Admission is free. 

Take part in a conversation about contemporary art in public space. CAFKA.16: Symposium is a project of the Critical Media Lab, University of Waterloo Fine Arts, University of Waterloo Art Gallery and CAFKA. On Sunday, June 4, from 11 AM - 4 PM, at Critical Media Lab, 44 Gaukel St, Kitchener, N2G. Admission is Free.

This week features This Could Be the Place, a series of performances produced by the University of Waterloo Art Gallery and the University of Waterloo Department of Fine Arts. The perfect excuse to get out at lunch, all performances begin at 12 PM at UW Arts Quad, more info here.
